More Cosmos

After rereading my most recent blog on Sex in the City I've done some thinking. Like I know I said it was superficial, but thinking about it I really didn't explain why. I think it was because I wasn't too sure myself. It's true that the lifestlye was pretty superficial, but to be hones it was more than just that. If you think about it some of the relationships the women had on the show were pretty superficial, too. The best example of this is Samantha for obvious reasons. And I also think that Carrie had a fair share too. Maybe I'm being a little too harsh, but let accept the facts Carrie didn't always make the best decisions when it came to relationships. I must admit I was somewhat disturbed when she chose Mr. Big in the end.

For almost the entire time they had an on again off again relationship, because he had commitment issues. The man put her through an emotional rollar coaster, one with three upside down loops. Why would things suddenly change? I guess what I don't understand is how she could go from a guy like Aidan to settling for Mr. Big. To me Aidan was the type of man that any smart woman would dream of. Loyal, faithful, smart, funny, and so on. He was the rare breed of New York man that was willing to commit and leave his personal baggage. I guess I just don't get Carrie I would have swooned over Aidan and dropped Mr. Big like a bad habit.
