Hey Jude

Recently I've seen a movie trailer for a movie that seemed to be Beatles inspired. For some reason, I can't seem to remember the title. The trailer had Hey Jude playing throughout the whole thing. In part of the title was a strawberry that looked just like the one from Strawberry Fields Forever. And the main character's name was Jude, a newly arrived Brit to the U.S. that was an artist & a musician. He has a love interest and issues develop in their relationship after the start of the Vietnam War. It seemed like a very interesting movie. Regardless it drew my curiousity about the of origins of the song Hey Jude.

Something about the lyrics in the song made me feel like there was a special story behind it. Turns out I was right & there's a very special story behind it. Paul McCartney wrote it to comfort Julian Lennon after his parents divorced. The shame of it, is that Julian didn't find out the truth behind the song for another twenty years. Here's a little of interesting side tidbit, Ringo went to the bathroom without the rest of the band knowing, and he almost missed his cue when they recorded it.
