Castles Made of Sand

I never really understood the relationship between the pull of the waves and the weather. For some reason that part of earth science always confused me. Sometimes I do think that I get confused too easily though. Anyway earlier today during lunchtime the waves were relatively calm, and there was more sand there then usual. And the water was a pretty light blue. It was one of those early afternoons where the sea and the sky are almost the same color. You know where if you look at the horizon you almost can't tell where the sky ends and the sea begins. I always thought that was kinda cool. The one weird thing was that I thought it was very strange that there were very few birds hanging out on the beach. I've always thought birds were much smarter than most people realize. Except for pigeons, they are just plain stupid. I'm sorry but any creature that eats so much they can't move off the ground isn't smart in my book. I know what does say about all of middle americans that eat so much they way 400 pounds and can't get up off the couch.

Anyway, later this afternoon the ocean waves were much further out and the water was a whole lot bluer. And the sun was gone and the skies were a lot grayer so you could tell that it was gonna rain later. So since there really weren't any gulls along the beach, and there certainly weren't any swans out either I decided to walk the other way along the way for a change. The bay looked pretty quiet, at least compared to the hustle and bustle of summer time when there's lots of activity with people running their sailboats. It's actually kinda sad to see all the sailboats with their sails down for the wintertime. It kinds reminds me of sleeping bears in the wintertime, not that i've really seen them, but you know in mind i pictured kinda like how I remembered them from cartoons when I was a kid. All the way down I could see the bigger boats, you know the fishing boats that go out and it was just so quiet down there. I didn't even some walking along the pier on the otherside. It all just make me crave the spring and summer when there's lots of activity going on. And then all the way down along the horizon I could see the Verranzo Bridge. I was surprised that I never noticed before that I could see it from there. Maybe I never really looked closely enough before, in fact I know I did. It's sometimes strange how you never notice the small little things unless you look close enough.
